Name: Amanda Butterfield
Age: 28
Height and Weight: (if you want to tell it): 5'4, 130#
Athletic background: I started playing soccer at the age of 4 and went on to play Division I soccer at Northern Arizona University for 4 years. I also participated in track and field in high school and competed in one year of indoor track at NAU. After I graduated I started running 5K's, 10K's, 1/2 marathons to stay in shape and completed my first sprint triathlon last year! I have always enjoyed working out and now I have FUN getting in shape, thanks to CFNWT!
How long you have been CrossFitting: One year
How long you have been CrossFitting with CFNWT: One year
What changes have you made in your training since you decided to compete in sectionals? I have increased my training to two-a-days. My day consists of waking up, going to the gym, work, going to the gym again, eat, sleep and do it all over again the next day! I have also been focusing on movements that I am weaker at.
What changes have you made in your nutrition since you decided to compete in sectionals? I have stayed consistent for the most part with the Zone Diet. The only real change I have made is increasing my blocks, protein intake and drinking more water throughout the day.
What other changes have you made in your life since you decided to compete in sectionals? None that I can think of.
Why are you competing in sectionals? I wanted to compete to see where I am in the world of CrossFit and to have something to train for. There were certain movements I wanted to get better at and I needed the extra motivation to achieve them.
If you were a super hero, what would be your strength? (just for fun): Determination

Thank you everybody for all the support and encouragement! I really can say that I wouldn't have even thought of competing without EVERYONE's words of encouragement. Every single person at CFNWT has helped me in some way or another push myself and get stronger. The coaches at this box are incredible and I can not thank them enough. With that said, a sincere THANKS to ALL the coaches!!! I also want to give a huge, huge, huge thanks to CD for helping me get the courage to train for this. Without him sacrificing his mornings to help coach and push me to do my best everyday, I would not be in the position I am now!! Having TJ, Michael, Patrick and Chez to train with has been awesome. Who better to push me through workouts then those guys! I will do my best to represent CFNWT at sectionals. Thank you to everybody that is planning on going to San Diego to cheer us on. Your cheering will be what gets me through to the end.
