Thank you for your interest in CrossFit NorthWest Tucson's Endurance Team. The CFNWT-ET goal is to get you trained for your endurance events the same way you CrossFit. Whether you are participating in the designated endurance classes, or training on your own, you will swim, bike, run, and/or row at high intensity and in a constantly varied fashion. You will do 1-2 intervals per week and 1 time trial OR tempo session per week.
CrossFit will be your strength and conditioning program, 4-6 times per week. CrossFit Endurance will be your sport, 2-3 times per week. For those training for multiple sports such as a dualathon or triathlon, you will train 2 times a week per sport.
To be on the CrossFit NorthWest Tucson Endurance Team, you do not have to attend the endurance classes that are offered in the gym. You can do all of your CrossFit Endurance training on your own either following CFNWT's endurance programming or using CrossFit Endurance HQ. It is important that you follow a CrossFit daily WOD 4-6 times per week. This cannot be stressed enough. Do not sub the endurance wod for your daily wod. To hit 4-6 CrossFit WODS plus your endurance WODS 2-3 times per week (for single sport, 2 times per week for multi-sport), you may be doing two workouts per day. For best results, you will rest at least 3-5 hours in between your daily workout and your endurance workout. This will ensure you will "kill" both wods. Your body will have an opportunity to rest and you will be able to refuel and rehydrate before doing the 2nd wod of the day. Also, you should mix it up and some days do your endurance wod first and other days do your daily wod first.
